Whitening and restorative treatment do different jobs
Whitening changes the color of natural teeth. Restorative care addresses the form or structure of a tooth when clinically appropriate. A brighter shade alone does not repair a damaged tooth. Ask your dentist to explain the least extensive approach that fits the problem and the tradeoffs of any proposed treatment.
